The Southern Death Adder is found in the hills and foothills, and is common around the Canning Dam.

This short, sturdy snake has colours which vary from greyish-brown to reddish-brown with pale cross-bands. It has a definite head and a dark worm-like lure at the end of the tail.

The Tiger Snake is found around swampy and low-lying areas. It is a distinctive snake that has a black upper surface and yellow to orange underbelly, with yellow stripes coming up the sides.

The Dugite is probably the most common snake seen in this area. Body colours vary from pale sandy, grey/brown to dark black, with dark scales speckled through the skin and a cream underbelly.
